How to play
- Choose a chip and bet on Player, Banker or Tie. You can bet on more than one.
- Deal. Both hands get two cards. The hand closer to 9 wins; tens and faces count 0 and only the last digit of the total counts.
- A third card may follow for either hand. Fixed rules decide it, so there’s nothing to choose.
- Player pays 1 to 1, Banker 19 to 20 (a 5% commission) and Tie 8 to 1. On a tie, the player and banker bets come back.
What’s the best bet?
Banker. With 8 decks it costs 1.06% of what you bet on average, even after the commission, against 1.24% for Player. Tie pays 8 to 1 but costs 14.36%, more than 13 times as much.
